design + deadlines = ? ....i can't calculate this one

soooo...i've been facebook stalking YSDN groups & viewed some MAGGGGGGNIFICENT online portfolios...
andddd i've realized that i've been so caught up in work and freelancing that I haven't designed anything for myself.

let me break this down a little.
ok, so i've always wanted to design a new logo for myself. since ..a long time ago. i whipped my current logo together for National Portfolio Day back in 2006. but it's not something that represents who I am. ok, it doesnt need to literally illustrate who I am but it needs to speak "JDesigns" LOL you know? im not sure how I came up with "JDesigns" i want something a little more creative. but thats a totally different issue. so yea, back to my story-- since my "young" design career has started, I feel like I've been creating projects after projects. it never stops. i took 12 art/design courses in 3 school years. this doesn't include the NUMEROUS # of side jobs that I've done. posters, t-shirts, book covers. i can't look back and say getting my works published was anything bad. because..it's truly the best part of the whole design process. so my logo never happened. my new freelancing "name" never happened. my online portfolio never happened. my online book portfolio never happened. i took all of this upon myself but I don't want to regret or blame myself for anything because in the end, I'm left with a HUGEEEEE portfolio. but all my stuff is just there...scattered...messy..and blah

screw it. im not gonna deal with crappy clients (i havent discussed my current client)
i'm gonna take time off and do things for myself. if i lose a client, i'll gain time for myself HAHA

"I want graphics within the text to create the logo. You know, spines, arms and things like that. Do you get what I mean? Play with type and colours. But make it subtle."
WTF. & this is why I'm worried about getting in to the design industry.

i sent a long reply back saying that intertwining graphics and type won't work. BCZ IT WONT.
"the logos you sent are a little too busy for my wife" WTF? if you have graphics+type you won't even be able to read the shit!!!

back to work.
